Answers

1. Can I pay my fee over time with a payment plan?
No. We have had nothing but trouble in the past with payment plans, post dated cheques and the like. First, we feel we give all players fair warning at least 4 months ahead of the fee due date so they may get the money together.  Second, we have to budget assuming all funds from player fees are in on the date we set. We cannot budget assuming monies will be spread out over the duration of the season. Finally, we have found that a complete financial commitment by the player results in a more committed player.
2. When is my fee due?
Anytime up to and including pre-established registration dates. Only after we receive your player fee (cheques cleared) will we issue your equipment. See the information page for dates.
3.  Where does the money from my fee go?
It  goes to keep the Wildcats in business. Player fees will go toward. Here is an approximation of costs:
Equipment purchases before and during the season
League fees
Stadium rental
Practice field permit
Trainer fees and supplies
Long trip stay over, accommodation (two teams)
exhibition game bus/referees
Awards/trophies
Website
Tickets
4. How can I pay my fee?
You can pay your fee by cheque, money orderor cash. Cheques must be payable to the METRO TORONTO WILDCATS. The $30 insurance/admin fee should be a cheque payable to the OVFL.
5. What do I have to do to get a release?
Releases will rarely be granted and usually because a player has moved. The League will check ID to prove living location. If we do consider a release  all fees must have been paid in full.
6. Are there tryouts? Do you cut players?
The Varsity roster will keep 60 players, 48 on active and 12 on reserve. Reserve players will pay a reduced fee and will practice with the team but not dress for games. A reserve can be moved to the active roster as a result of injury to an active roster player or other reasons. At Junior and Peewee, we will not cut players. If we can equip you we will keep you. Outside of disciplinary reasons or blatant violations of policy, the only reason we would let a junior player go would be that we have an unusually high number of players making it impossible to coach effectively or to equip the players.
7. Do the coaches get paid?
No. Strangely enough, this has been a question too often asked. The Wildcats are a volunteer organization.
8. Does anyone make money in the Wildcats Organization?
No. The Wildcats and parent organization, the LPFAA, are non-profit organizations and no member can receive payment  for services. All profits must be funneled into the operating costs of the organization. Financial statements are made public on the LPFAA website at  http://www.lpfaa.com.
9. If I don't start, will I see playing time?
That decision rests with the coaching staff. All attempts will be made to get all players playing time but there can be no doubt some players will receive more playing time than others. It depends on game time team situations, experience,  practice history and attitude. Your player fee does not guarantee playing time.
10. What do I get to keep after the season is over?
Each player will keep his practice jersey, t-shirt, shorts and game socks. You also have the option of ordering a season game dvd so you may put together a highlight tape.
11. What is the $30 registration fee for?
This fee goes directly to the League to cover insurance, statistics and some administrative costs
12. What is the LPFAA I keep hearing about?
This is the Lawrence Park Football Alumni Association. It is the non-profit organization that owns and operates the MTW and is committed to the growth of community football in Toronto. It also qualifies as a charity through its membership with Football Canada.

13. What if I can't attend winter practices?
Winter practices are optional but strongly encouraged. You are advised to communicate with the Head Coach if you cannot attend these practices
14. How do I sponsor the Wildcats?
Sponsorship can take many forms. You can make tax deductible donations (see sponsorship page for details), purchase ad space in our game program,  purchase field space for banners or A-frames or take title sponsorship of the jerseys.
See http://www.torontowildcats.com/sponsorship.htm
15. Do I have to bring my own equipment?
No, we can supply you with equipment after your payment is confirmed and cleared through our bank
16. How can I get game tape?
After the season is over, requests are emailed to Chuck Richardson and regular pick up dates are established.
17. Can you help me put together a highlight film?
Yes. Each game is filmed on DV video and requests for film can be made to the team. See http://www.torontowildcats.com/video.htm
18. What If my postal code is not listed as part of Wildcats Territory?

20. I am 16 (or under) can I play for the Varsity Team?
All players ages 16 and under as of May 31st, midnight of the playing year must register with the Metro Toronto Junior Wildcats. At such time as both Junior and Varsity coaching staffs agree that a 16 yr old will benefit less from playing junior than they would varsity will that player be moved to the formal Varsity roster, contingent on the players desire to do so. No player will be moved from the junior roster if such a move would jeopardize the ability of the junior team from fielding an appropriate number of players. This decision must take place prior to the first regular season game of that season.
21.2. If I bring my own equipment, do i still have to pay a deposit? 1
Yes, the deposit also covers uniform and helmet which all players are issued regardless of whose equipment is used
